I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
